Southern Shores of Hvar Island

Motor boat getaway from Hvar

The southern shores of Hvar Island, the second most indented Croatian island, showcase a number of hidden coves, rocky coasts, vineyard covered slopes and crisp blue surface of the Adriatic, all melting into an expressive setting for your exciting day on the sea. Sail away from the land and explore the southern coast of Hvar on your private motor boat tour, enjoying a day in the privacy of untouched nature!
Our voyage begins and ends in the charming town of Hvar, from its harbor which was historically strategic to the Venetian trading routes. Here, it's farewell to walking Hvar's amazing stone streets, lively piazzas and charming back alleys, as we embark on the motorboat to discover the vastness of open seas beyond Hvar shores.
The southern coast is largely uninhabited with many bays and beaches just perfect for swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing and other sea activities. As this is your day, you can pick the ones where you'd like to stop and refresh in the sparking Adriatic. Many of these locations are accessible only by boat, and with a little bit of luck, you just may find a perfect beach all to yourself.
Our lunch destination is just that – perfect and all to yourself. The largely uninhabited island of Scedro still preserves the true essence of Dalmatia. We will visit a small bay, off the beaten path for many and home to a monastery abandoned in the 19th century, when the last monk took down the monastery doors and sailed on them to Zavala, a town on the island of Hvar right across Scedro! You will enjoy a simple Dalmatian lunch of freshly caught fish served with bread that is a gem in its own right. Prepared from several different types of flour in a tradition technique, be ready to savor this secret highlight of Dalmatian cuisine!
No day on the sea around Hvar would be complete without sailing around the Pakleni islands, the mesmerizing archipelago in front of the town of Hvar, bring you back on land just at the right time to enjoy some splendid cocktails in Hvar renowned cocktail bars.

The name of the island Šćedro has been derived from the old Slavic word 'štedri', meaning charitable, referring to its two large protected bays, Veli Porat and Mostir, which have been a safe haven for ships since the ancient Roman times. In fact, many battles of those times were fought around this area, and the sea bed still hides many of their traces.
In the 1331 Hvar Statute, the island was declared communal property and was further mainly used for pasturing, due to its fertile land and somewhat milder climate than on Hvar. Today, the island is only inhabited by a small number of locals during the summer running few authentic restaurants. Šćedro is the perfect place to experience the Adriatic as it once was.
