What you'll see on this tour

Get a taste of Slovenia and join us on a journey to the city of art, architecture, great food, wines and irresistible charm. A very enjoyable day trip from Zagreb will show you the unique spirit of the city of Ljubljana that comes alive on our private walking tour that is a pleasant mix of history, culture and famous landmarks. Guaranteed to steal your heart, Ljubljana is one of those capitals which still feel humble and humane.

With your private chauffeur drive to Ljubljana where you will be welcomed by your local guide and embark on a private walking tour of Ljubljana’s beautiful historic center. The architecture of Ljubljana was strongly influenced by the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, exuding sturdiness and elegance at the same time. Some of the famous sights you will pass by include the Magistrat (Town Hall) with a Gothic inner courtyard, the Baroque town mansion, the 18th century cathedral, the Shoemaker’s Bridge and the historic Jewish quarter.

The iconic Zmajski Most (Dragon Bridge), sitting under the picture-perfect castle on the hill, is perhaps the hallmark of any walk around Ljubljana. Flanked by dragons that look like something straight out of a fantasy illustration but are actually a part of the city’s coat of arms, this bridge, built in the Austro-Hungarian secessionist style, is perhaps the citiy’s most iconic image. Along the riverside, charming cafés, full of life day and night, are a great spot to catch a glimpse of both the bridges and the riverboat, passing along the tree-lined banks to the music drifting from the bars.

At the end of the day, relax on your return transfer to Zagreb.

The Green Ljubljana

In 2016 Ljubljana was awarded the title of the European Green Capital which had a lot to do with the city’s impressively green state of affairs. Tap water here is potable without further treatment. The city boasts the highest percentage (63%) of separated waste amongst all European capitals. Despite already featuring half an Olympic pool per person of public green space, new is added constantly. But perhaps the most importantly, Ljubljana is cleverly safeguarding all of these for the future, putting an extra emphasis on expansive pedestrian zones throughout the city and especially in its city center, along and around the Ljubljanica River. Crisscrossed by 17 beautiful bridges, each one of a unique design and story of its own, the area is a symbol of the city and now also its role model.
