Mljet National Park Discovery

Private boat trip to Mljet National Park

An hour long motor-boat ride from Dubrovnik, the trip to Mljet is a tribute to the mythical Greek hero and king of Ithaca, Odysseus. A local legend says that Odysseus had shipwrecked on the island of Mljet and was lured by the nymph Calypso into a cave where she held him hostage for 7 years.
Embark on a private luxury excursion to discover the legendary cave of Odysseus, but also movie-like sandy beaches, magnificent hidden bays, and some truly local experiences. Take some time to relax, swim and enjoy the crystal clear water of the Adriatic. Mljet island is a lush green paradise and home to a national park with miraculous sea lakes known for its beauty but also a unique eco system, including also one of Europe's largest coral reefs!
Discover the treasures of the small islands in the middle of the sea lake on Mljet, with a Benedictine monastery of St. Mary from the 12th century. You will also have a chance to explore the local historic settlements of Soline and Polace and enjoy an authentic local lunch at your leisure. Your skipper can make a recommendation based on your preferences.
As you say goodbye to this island paradise, bask in the vivid and mesmerizing panoramas and beautiful sceneries of the Elaphites and all the small villages along the coast on the journey back to Dubrovnik.
The Mljet National Park tour can really be anything you want it to be. It is a chance for an active family time, for romantic sailing and swimming, for overall leisure or nature exploring. The mesmeric greenery, the scent of pinewoods, crystal clear blue of the waters, Mljet is really the place for all kindred spirits to find their own piece of peace.

St. Paul's Shipwreck

The name of the Lemuni beach on Mljet means "lemons", as its shape and color to a certain extent, remind of lemon wedges. But besides its ethereal beauty, contrasting the soft sand, rugged rocks, green pinewoods and the crisp blue Adriatic, Lemuni beach is also known as the place where St. Paul the Apostle shipwrecked during his journey from Jerusalem to Rome, subsequently spending 3 months on the island.
This story had been a subject of many discussions, as there are two islands in the Mediterranean which historically bore the name Melita: Malta and Mljet. But given the rest of St. Paul's description of the island as "green and full of snakes", his references to Adria (Adriatic) and a local legend about St. Paul miraculously surviving a snake bite, the locals have absolutely no doubt that their Mljet is the Melita St. Paul had shipwrecked on!
