Illyrian Mysteries

Illyrian Mysteries

When: Year round
Duration: from 5 hours
From: Split. Program can run from Trogir and Šibenik as well at extra cost for transfers

Dalmatia is like sex: everybody thinks they are expert in it, but it yet remains a taboo. You can read all you want about it, if you can find good literature, which is extremely hard, but unless you have experienced it yourself, you will still have no idea what it is.

And so, naturally, there is a fascination about Dalmatia: controversy, passion, romance… There is something so remarkable about it and yet so elusive that cannot be properly defined.

So forget all you know about Dalmatia and the Adriatic. The most monumental sites are not on the coast: it is not Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar or any other well known tourist attraction. The most fascinating and mysterious sites are hidden in the Dalmatian inland far off the main tourist tracks.
Illyrian Dalmatia is a mystery. It is one of the most amazing megalithic cultures of Europe predating any remembered history. According to established academics it is at least 10,000 years old, but we claim it goes much further back in history to prediluvian times.
We will show you some of the most amazing megalithic sites in Europe: sacred temples, wells, cairns, burial sites and landscapes dotted with astronomical markers. All of these amazing places had been built with the knowledge of mystical mathematics, astronomy, alchemy and ancient science of cosmic principles. Unless you have seen Dalmatia with symbolist and philosophical eyes, you have not seen it at all.

We will get away from crowds and enjoy the peaceful solitude of ancient mysteries. We will go to places most people don’t get into. If you decide you want to spend more than one day, you will get to experience the most amazing food and local wines mystically combined with the season to celebrate this wonderful land and our time together.
There are thousands of other tours that offer very little to the heart and mind, not to mention the soul. However, after this life changing experience you will be able to discern the difference between the true civilization, dedicated to the immortality of the soul, and the pickle that we find ourselves in today, that we call “progress”.
Available around the year, your host will be Mr. Domagoj Nikolić, author, winemaker, expert in Dalmatian cuisine, cosmologist in mystical disguise, and probably the best connoisseur of Illyrian mysteries in the world.

Dear Alan,
We are now home from Croatia and I wanted to let you know how much we appreciated the arrangements that you made for us. We had a very hot and wonderful day with Domagoj. He had so much information, he took care of us very well, we learnt a lot and it was a pleasure to spend our time with him. We really received an in depth understanding of the ancients in Croatia and it was also a good opportunity to see something of the country beyond the coastal region. We also accidently bumped into his wife & one of his sons, so that was an unexpected bonus.
Our tour guide Branka in Dubrovnik was very pleasant & we also learnt interesting things from her. We were happy to spend some time with her also. Thank you again and when we return to Croatia, as I know that we will, we will contact you for further adventures.
